Rickey Lee Hawk

Mr. Rickey Lee Hawk, 67, of Mebane, NC passed away at Duke University Hospital on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. Rickey was born in Chatham County, NC to William Hawk and Antonio Cook Hawk, both deceased. Mr. Hawk spent his working years as a quality inspector. He was a hard worker and can be described as a jack of all trades, getting the job done even if it required his own unique and original methods of handiwork. Rickey can be remembered as a man full of life, he kept things interesting playing jokes and keeping laughter alive when he was in good company. In his free time Rickey enjoyed the beach, being around animals, fishing, mowing, and just about anything as long as the outdoors were involved. Rickey had a place in his heart for many things but none surpassed the love he had for his family. He cared for them unconditionally as a loving and patient father, grandfather, uncle, and husband.

Rickey is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sandy Hawk, his daughter, Ashley Gooch (Christopher), his son, Christopher Hawk (Nicole), his daughter, Stacie Hawk (Chris Tate), and a son, Eric, Hawk (Alla), eight grandchildren, Drew, Mackenzie, Cooper, Aden, Harper, Aubree, Peyton, and Preston, two special nieces, Cynthia Renee Reagan and Cheyenne Reagan, two sisters, Cathy Watson and Nikki Nutter, and a brother, Jeff Hawk.

A service will be held to celebrate the life of Rickey Lee Hawk on Monday, September 20, 2021 at the McClure Funeral Home in Mebane beginning at 2:00PM. A visitation for the family to receive friends and loved ones will begin at 1:00PM on Monday.

Gathering at Xtreme Dance Academy after the service at 103B South 5th Street, Mebane, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Duke Pulmonary Research Fund.
