Robert Lindsey “Bob” Jones Robert Lindsey Jones was born January 25, 1939 in Alamance County, NC, son of the late Joseph Hayes Jones and Evelyne Watlington Jones Medical issues in 1998 forced Robert to take disability retirement from Glen Raven Mills in 1999. He worked in the Engineering Dept. and moved on to Cost Accountant. He left Glen Raven Mills in 1969 to accept a Controller position with Andrex Mills in Asheville, NC. In 1972 he returned to Glen Raven Mills as an Administrative Manager/Division Controller at their hosiery plant in Altamahaw, NC. When the hosiery plant closed in 1995 he moved to the Glen Raven Group Office in Glen Raven, NC as Corporate Payroll and Fixed Assets Manager. He discovered the hobby of collecting American made glass in the 1970s. A hobby he extended in to a small antiques and collectibles business in several antique malls throughout North Carolina over the years – something he greatly enjoyed. Robert was a loving husband, loving father and loving grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rebecca “Becky” Rider Jones, a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Mark Helms of Summerfield, NC, a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Annette Jones, of Mooresville, NC. Grandchildren, Tyler Helms, Amanda Helms, and Morgan Helms, of Summerfield, NC. Veronica Jones, and Samantha Jones of Mooresville, NC A sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Buddy Boggs, of Haw River, NC and a brother and sister-in-law, William “Bill” and Shirley Jones of Newport, NC. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 12:00 PM at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by Rev. Walter Jones. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 – 12:00 before the service.
