Robert Jenkins Graham

GRAHAM - Robert Jenkins Graham, 94, of 216 Graham Street, Graham, N.C. 27253, passed at 3:42 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Robert, a native of Alamance County, was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Haw River. After graduating from Burlington High School, Robert attended and graduated from Elon College. He furthered his education by receiving Master Degrees from both Appalachian University and North Carolina State University and is a retired instructor for the Technical Institute of Alamance and was a member at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, where he served as a Lay Reader and Sr. Warden Vestry of the church.Surviving are his wife, Genelle Tucker Graham, of the home; daughters, Brenda Lindley and husband Harry of Siler City and Dale Burr and husband Chris of Lexington; sons, Allan Graham and wife Debbie of Dubai and James ""Jimmy"" Graham and wife Brenda of Los Angeles, Calif.; grandchildren, Kevin Lindley and wife Julie of Siler City, Erik Lindley and wife Denise of Siler City, Melanie Reece and husband Joe of Siler City, John Robertson of Greensboro, Scott Robertson of Idaho, Holly Graham, Millie Graham, and Candace Graham, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; and 12 great-grandchildren.Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lee Graham and Ethel Jenkins Graham; two sisters, Virginia Ground and Maxie Stewart; and two brothers, James H. Graham and Harold Graham.A memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Haw River, N.C., with the family receiving friends at the church following the service.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1004 Hwy 70, Haw River, NC 27258.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mcclurefuneralservice.net
