Robert Park

Rev. Robert F. Park, 92, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 24, 2017 surrounded by his family, in the care of Hospice at Camden Place. He was born on November 16, 1924 in Colonial Heights, Va. and was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Lois Park. He attended Hampden-Sydney College before he was drafted into the Army in 1943. After the military, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of William & Mary in 1948. Next he attended Union Theological Seminary earning a Bachelor of Divinity degree. He was minister of Old Fort and Siloam churches from 1951-55, Rocky River Church from 1955-59, Lillington Presbyterian and Cape Fear churches from 1959-72, Bayside Church in Virginia Beach as assistant minister from 1972-74, and pastor of Hillsborough Church from 1974 until retirement. Left to cherish his memory include his children Jo Anne Diggs & husband Jimmy, Beverly James, Stacy Park; grandchildren; Jamey Anne Croft & husband Rod, Stephanie Murphy & husband Johnathan, and a great grandchild Riley Croft. Visitation will be held on Friday April 28, 2017 from 1-2pm at McClure Funeral and Cremation Service in Mebane. A graveside service will be held at 2:30pm on Friday at Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane. Following the graveside service a memorial service will be held at Mebane Presbyterian Church.
