Robert "Jack" Victor Hunt

Mr. Robert Victor “Jack” Hunt, 87, of Haw River, NC, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Edgewood Place of Burlington. A native of Orange County, NC, he was the son of the late Ervin Victor and Ruth Laws Hunt and the husband of the late Katie Sue Oakley Hunt. He was a loving husband, father, uncle and friend to many. He was retired from Western Electric with numerous years of service where he was in service and production. He loved to travel with his family, having traveled to all of the US states except Hawaii due to the fact he was not going to fly! As a young man he was of the Primitive Baptist faith and later enjoyed attending Haw River UMC. He loved music and would sing whenever he got an opportunity. He was known as a family man and a problem solver. He was a man who worked with his hands and was always coming up with clever projects that would put a smile on people’s faces. If you ever ran into him, he always had a smile on his face. Survivors include his daughter, Lib Hunt, of Haw River; sister, Mary Ruth Lloyd, of Durham and numerous nieces, nephews, other family, many supporting friends and his church family. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Haw River United Methodist Church with the Pastor Laure Kalau officiating. Burial will follow in the Haw River Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until service time on Tuesday in the Church Parlor and other times at the residence of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Haw River UMC and to the Haw River UMC Pantry of Hope at P.O. Box 460, Haw River, NC 27258. The family of Mr. Hunt would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Edgewood Place (Dogwood Terrace) for their love and support.
