Rodney Newcomer

Rodney Earl Newcomer, Sr., 67 of Mebane, NC was born on September 18, 1949, and lost his short battle with cancer on April 24, 2017. Rodney spent a rich life loving and caring for his family, which includes his wife Phyllis, of 44 years and sons, Rodney Jr. and wife Laura, Kenneth and wife Allison, Kevin and wife Shirley, Richard and 10 loving grandchildren. Rodney spent many days with his boys playing checkers and watching and playing sports. After 4 decades of working he finished his career at AKG of America in Mebane, NC. Rodney was blessed to have a large and loving family that included brothers, Palmer Jr. and wife Donna, Danny and wife Lisa, and sister, Diane Williamson and John; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Palmer and Marie, and brother Mike. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Center at Alamance Regional Medical Center at 1236 Huffman Mill Rd. Burlington, NC, 27215.
