Roger Kirk Parker

Mr. Roger K. Parker, 80, passed away peacefully at his home in Mebane, North Carolina, on January 26, 2024, following a long battle with cancer.  He was a native of Durham, North Carolina and the son of the late Emory Furman and Frances Carden Parker of Durham, North Carolina. Roger was a member of First Baptist Church of Mebane and was the President of the Koinonia class.  One of his last wishes was to be able to go back to the Koinonia class one more time. He spent his working years working at IBM until he retired.  Roger was an avid golfer and spent many years playing golf with family and friends.  Spending time with his grandchildren was his favorite pastime as they were his pride and joy.

Roger is survived by his wife of 29 years, Phyllis Parker; his children, Dana Parker Aderhold (Mark) and Roger Kirk D. Parker (Holly); his step-children, Cheryl Russell and Greer Clemons (Toby); his grandchildren, Parker Aderhold, Bailey Aderhold, Bray Parker, and Olivia Parker; his step-grandchild, Shelby Clemons; his beloved sister, Susan Naylor (George); and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Rogers life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Mebane, North Carolina, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, beginning at 2:00pm.  The family will receive family and friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
