Ronnie Wayne Ivey Sr. 74, of Snow Camp, NC went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday December 20, 2022 at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, NC surrounded by his family.  A native of Alamance County he was the son of the late James Edward Ivey and Ida Estelle Kimery.

Ronnie worked at GKN for 14 years, where he excelled in pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical repairs, even earning the nickname “Doc” for his exceptional aptitude in these areas, before retiring in 1994. He attended Eastern Alamance High School, graduating in 1967.  He also attended TIA, earning multiple mechanical and electrical certifications.  His hobbies included boating, hunting (especially dove hunting), fishing, playing horse shoes, and playing rook with friends. Ronnie always looked forward to his yearly trips to the beach to go flounder gigging.  He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and a true friend who would always help anyone he could.  He loved watching old Western movies and played them loudly for all to hear. He also enjoyed watching a variety of TV shows including Star Trek, Ice Road Truckers, and Auction Kings.  His absolute favorite past time was spending time with and being surrounded by his family, and doting on his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 54 years Elizabeth Faye Ivey of the home, his son Ronnie Ivey Jr. of Graham, son Craig Ivey of Snow Camp, his Granddaughter Danielle (Ron) Jacobs of Graham, his Granddaughter Stevie Rudd of Burlington, his Grandson Ethan Ivey of Graham, his great Grandson Ron Jacobs of Graham, his great Granddaughter Kaylee Jacobs of Graham, his great Grandson Hunter Jacobs of Graham, his Great Granddaughter Aniyah Rudd of Burlington, his Great Granddaughter Allidiya Rudd of Burlington, his Great Granddaughter Amelia Rudd of Burlington, his Great Granddaughter Safina Sesay of Burlington, his sister Linda (Donald) Duggins, his sister Ina Faye Wilson (Kenny), his brother Robert (Connie) Ivey, his brother James (Kaye) Ivey, his brother-in-law Tommy (Jo) Carroll, his brother-in-law Tony (Linda) Carroll, and multiple nieces and nephews.  Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Dawn Rudd, his daughter Jodi Combs, his Grandson Randall Rudd, his brother Roy Ivey, and his sister Pat Gaddy.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 12pm-2pm at McClure Funeral home in Graham, NC. Service will follow immediately after at 2pm in the McClure Chapel officiated by the Pastor Wayne Howard. Burial will take place in Graham Memorial Park. Family will be available at the home of his Granddaughter Danielle Jacobs.  Flowers can be sent to McClure Funeral Home in Graham or in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the McClure Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
