Roy Lee Lambert

Mr. Roy Lee Lambert, 75, of Edgewood Place in Burlington, died March 5, 2017 at Cone Hospital in Greensboro. Roy was born in Ashe County, NC on November 29, 1941, the son of John and Hattie Combs Lambert. He was a hard working man retiring as an inspector from Leesona Textiles. Roy only took time off twice during the year, for March Madness basketball and the beginning of hunting season. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved hunting and the mountains. Roy loved his family, and was passionate about Tarheels basketball. Survivors include his son, Ricky Lambert of Burlington; daughter, Pam Gillespie of Burlington; granddaughter, Kaitlin Gillespie; brothers, Johnny “Ralph”, Joey, Bill and Allen Lambert; sisters, Mary Gordon and Doris Wilson; plus his extended family at Edgewood Place. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Paul Lambert. The funeral for Mr. Lambert will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 9, 2017 in the chapel of McClure Funeral Home in Graham, with Chaplain Jeff Knudson presiding. Interment will follow in St. Mark’s Church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 12 noon until 12:45 pm Thursday at the funeral home. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Edgewood Place for the love and care shown to Roy while he lived there.
