Ruby Benton

Mrs. Ruby Mary Graves (Foust) Benton of 3804 Ringling Road in Gibsonville died Monday, December 5, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Greensboro. Mrs. Benton was 88 years old when God called her Home to rest. Mrs. Benton was born March 29, 1928 to the late Ethel and Josh Foust of McLeansville. She went to school at Sedia School and completed a 6th grade education before she had to be home to take care of her mother’s household and her siblings. Mrs. Benton was married at the age of 16 to Marion Smith Benton, well known as “Tree”, who preceded her in death. They were married for 67 years She was a homemaker and loving mother. She had two brothers and two sisters, Jake Foust of McLeansville, the late Walter Foust of Williamston, the late Mozelle Summers of Sedia and the late Nan Tinsley of Greensboro. She is survived by her children, Marion “Leo” Benton (Carolyn) of Gibsonville, David Benton (Betty) of Greensboro, Geraldine Benton of the home, and Dorothy Benton, who was called Home by the Lord. Six grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 9, 2016 at McClure Funeral Home in Graham with Pastor J. Harold Palmer presiding. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington.
