BURLINGTON, N.C. - Mrs. Ruth Currie, 84, passed away Nov. 28, 2013, at the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell. Our precious mother is now in the Land of the Living.She was the wife of the late Ralph Currie and daughter of the late James Edgar Keck and Ella Mae Zachery. She was a member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and other numerous groups. She loved to shop and was also a great cook, mother, grandmother and friend.Survivors include daughters, Lynette Joyce (Rob) of Burlington and Carlotta Hunter (Mark) of Snow Camp; son, Jody Currie (Linda) of Burlington; brother; Homer Keck (Shirley); sister, Glenda Clampitt; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jones; and a brother, Bobby Keck.A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Andrews Memorial Baptist Church in Graham with Dr. Tommy Willis officiating. The burial will take place in Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery.Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at McClure Funeral Service in Graham. At other times the family will be at the residence of Carlotta, 1065-B Tingen Road, Snow Camp. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hospice Home Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
