Sally Ivey

Sally Lynne Maxwell Ivey, born February 22, 1961, passed away at the age of 65 on Monday, September 14, 2026 after a long illness. Sally Lynne graduated from Hoke County High School in Raeford, North Carolina and East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. She worked with the Orange County Schools for twenty years prior to her retirement.

Sally Lynne was preceded in death by her parents James Neil Maxwell, Sr. and Sarah Ellen Covington Maxwell. Sally Lynne is survived by her husband, Roger Dale Ivey, daughter Sarah Morgan Ivey, brother James (Jimmy) N. Maxwell, Jr. (Marvin Lynn), sister Mary Monroe Maxwell Barnett (Jeremy) and nieces, Shannon, Jordan, and Katelyn.

Services will be held at Chestnut Ridge Methodist Church, 3505 Chestnut Ridge Road, Efland, NC. Sally Lynne was an active member of her church and served on various committees. Visitation will be held from 1:30 pm until 2:45 pm on Friday September 18, 2026, followed by the Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 pm

with burial in the church cemetery.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to Duke Hospice staff, Efland Volunteer Fire Department and Chestnut Ridge Community for their years of support throughout Sally Lynne’s sickness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Efland Volunteer Fire Department, P. O. Box 39, Efland, NC 27243.
