Mrs. Sandra Bass Owens, age 80, departed this life and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. She died peacefully while at her home. She will be missed by so many family and friends and remembered for her loving and generous nature and her devotion to her family. Mrs. Owens was a graduate of Farmville High School and Averett College of Danville, VA. She also attended Barbizon Modeling School in New York. She is survived by her loving son, Robbie Owens and wife Penny Martin Owens, of Mebane; her sister, Ann Bass Smith and husband Gary Smith, of Kinston, NC; her 3 loving grandchildren, John Robert Owens IV, of Mebane, Robert Dalton Owens, of Burlington, and Kent McCoy Owens, of Madison, Alabama; a great granddaughter, Anna Kate Owens, of Madison, Alabama and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her parents, Lyman McCoy Bass and Martha Minges Bass, of Farmville, NC; her loving son, Caswell McCoy Owens, of Mebane; a sister, Judye Bass Bleeker, of Fayetteville, NC; her maternal grandparents, Miles O. Minges and Myrtle Morrow Minges, of Greenville, NC and her paternal grandparents John William Bass and Addie Owens Bass, of Farmville, NC. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday February 22, 2025 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane with the Pastors Chris Hill and her son, Robbie Owens officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
