Sara Josephine Burgess

Sara Josephine Nicholson Burgess, 90, 0f Mebane passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Presbyterian Home of Hawfields. Sara was born in Alamance County. She was retired from Western Electric with 40 years service. She was also a lifetime member of Hebron United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter in law, Mary L. Burgess of Mebane. Grandchildren; Nikki and Paul Crews, Bennie and Hannah Felts. Great Grandchildren, Preston Lashley, Sarah Shell, Jacob Lashley, Thomas Crews. Special nieces and nephews; Nancy (Joe) Fennel, Greig Nicholson (Linda), Tim Nicholson (Pam). She was preceded in death by; Husband, Jamie Gordon Burgess. Son; Bruce Burgess, Parents, Albert and Cora Jobe Nicholson. Sisters; Evelyn Atkins, Rozelle Martin. Brothers; James Nicholson, Arnold Nicholson, Thomas Nicholson, and Ervin Nicholson. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Hebron United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Bryan Sexton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:45 AM until 10:45 AM at the church prior to the service. Other times they will be at her residence.
