Sara (Ingle) Burnette

Mrs. Sara Ingle Burnette, 78, of Graham, NC passed away on Friday April 23, 2021 at the Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington. A native of Alamance Co. NC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Sarah Adams Ingle and the wife of the late Griffin Johnson “Johnny” Burnette. Sara retired from the Burlington Police Department with 20 years of service to her community. She was a past member of the Graham Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary to support her husband and his fellow firemen. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church where she was able to share her love for music singing in the Church Choir and playing the piano. She loved to help her church and church family by cooking and volunteering for many church functions. The smiles on her face and the light of her eye was her granddaughter as she and Johnny would never miss a recital, school function and especially any ballgames. Survivors include her daughters, Janet Clayton (Eddie) and Dana Burnette (Lisa Woodie); her loving granddaughter, Kristina “Doodle” Clayton (Ashley); great grandson, Kaden Clayton; a special friend, Neil Gann; her sister, Amy Ingle Massey (O’Dell), brother, Norman Clyde Ingle and her nephews, Mike, Eric, and James. A funeral service will be held at the McClure Funeral Service Chapel in Graham on Monday April 26, 2021 at 2:00 PM with the Pastor Mick Rayner officiating. Burial will follow alongside her husband Johnny at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home and other times at the residence of the family.
