GRAHAM - Sara Martha Byrd Blalock 86, of 1817 Meadowview Drive in Graham died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Peak Resources of Alamance. She was a native of Marion SC, a homemaker and a member of New Covenant Fellowship Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; Culbert & Lena Richardson Byrd, sisters; Ila Anderson James, Mattie Anderson Ammons and Ruth Anderson Hucks, brothers; Maurice (Shug) Byrd, the Rev. Jessie Anderson and Frank Byrd.She is survived by her husband; Joseph W. Blalock of the home, daughter; Robin McCormick Simmons and husband Wendell of Conway, SC, grandchildren: Destiny Dawn King and husband Joseph of Myrtle Beach, SC and Summer Michelle Strickland of Conway, SC, and Trapper Wayne Myers of Conway, SC, step grandchildren; Hunter King and River King, great grandsons; Nikolai Ryder Zaitsev and Aleksei Blaze Zaitsev of Myrtle Beach, SC, stepson; Ronnie Blalock of Greensboro, NC and brother; William "Tommy" Byrd of Marion, SC.Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at New Covenant Fellowship Church by the Rev. David Neff and the Rev. Paul Waters with burial to follow in Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 12:00 – 2:00 before the service. The body will remain at McClure Funeral Home, 1030 South Main Street, Graham, NC 27253 until being taken to the church for the service. Memorials may be made to the New Covenant Fellowship Church Building Fund, 1913 Rogers Road, Graham, NC 27253.
