Sara Gillispie

Ms. Sara Jean Gillispie, 91, of Burlington, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Born November 24, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Harris and Winnefred Hogan. Sara spent her working years at Burlington Industries, working as a Sales Associates until she retired. She will be missed by all those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Sara is preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Frank Gillispie Sr., and her daughter, Teresa Ellen Gillispie.

She is survived by her son, Billy Gillispie Jr.; her daughters, Karen Smith (Gerald) and Michelle Lassiter; her grandchildren, Addison Gillispie, Keith Allen Burton III “Trey”, Brianna Erlan (Jason), Elizabeth Coble (Britt), and Jimmy Stutts (McKenna); and her great grandchildren, Jacob Coble, Peyton Coble, Wyatt Coble, Aspen Erlan, and Baker Erlan.

A funeral service will be held to honor Sara’s life on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, beginning at 2:00pm at Harvest Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 7:00pm-9:00pm at McClure Funeral Home in Graham.
