Sarah Anne DiBona, a vibrant and cherished soul, passed away on October 11, 2025, surrounded by her family at the age of 40 in Alamance Co., North Carolina, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born on March 29, 1985, in Midland Co., Michigan, Sarah's infectious energy and unwavering spirit were evident from the very beginning. Sarah, affectionately known by her loved ones as a beacon of strength and love, was the beloved daughter of Susan Buttomer Prue and her husband, James Howard Prue, and David Mark DiBona and his wife, Julia M. Crafts. She was a guiding light in the lives of her siblings, Elizabeth DiBona, Karen Arno and her husband Nicholas, and Matthew DiBona and his wife Rachel Sponzo. Sarah was preceded in death by her doting grandparents, James Sr. and Phyllis Buttomer, Carolino and Dorothy DiBona, and her special uncle, James Buttomer Jr., who was her rock during her illness. A graduate of Springfield College in Massachusetts, Sarah's athletic prowess shone brightly as a member of the track and field team. Her passion for sports was ignited in her high school years at Wells High School in Wells Maine, where she excelled in soccer and basketball, demonstrating her natural leadership and team spirit as well as in Marching Band. Sarah's professional journey was marked by her role as a Project Mangaer at BSI America, where she applied her characteristic dedication and excellence. Her colleagues will remember her for her tenacity, her ability to inspire, and her unwavering commitment to every endeavor she undertook. Beyond her professional and athletic achievements, Sarah was renowned for her leadership within her family and her profound love for children. She made it her mission to connect with each family member, sharing her boundless love and wisdom. Sarah's zest for life was complemented by her love for music and her innate desire to be involved in the lives of those around her, always seeking ways to offer help and advice. Sarah's legacy is one of love, resilience, and the indelible impact she left on the hearts of those who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of positivity and the importance of family.
