Sarah Lou Hurt

Sarah L. (Hodges) Hurt of Graham, NC formerly of Mebane passed peacefully at her home 2:45am, Thursday, July 16, 2015. Sarah was known to all who knew her as “Maw Maw”. She was born in Franklin County Virginia on April 13th, 1923.She was preceded in death by both parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, both husbands Walter E. Hodges and John L. Hurt, Jr., 1 grandson, 2 great granddaughter’s and 1 great-grandson, She is survived by a son Eldridge Hodges and wife Betty Jean, 4 daughters Betty Hodges of Snow Camp, Margaret Costner of Graham, Mary Martin of Burlington and Mildred(Kathy) Hodges of Graham, 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the McClure Funeral and Cremation Service in Graham on Saturday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, other times at the home of a daughter Margaret Costner 722 Larry Ave., Graham, NC. Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Sunday July 19, 2015 at the Hope Baptist Church 710 West Main Street, Haw River, NC officiated by the Dr. Frederick Bunts and Reverend Stanley Savage.
