Serena Weaver, 78, passed away at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell on October 28, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Essie Oakley Huff and the wife of the late Curley Weaver for 60 years. After she retired from GE she went to work at Mayflower as a hostess and she was also a trip coordinator for Holiday Tours. Survivors include her daughter; Carolyn Dyer (William) of Burlington, son; Randy Weaver (Katie) of Wilmington, grandchildren; Jonathan Massey (Melissa) of Burlington, Preston Massey of McCleansville, Nicholas Weaver and Callie Beth Weaver both of Wilmington, four great grandchildren and another one on the way, sisters; Frances Clayton and Delaine Mangum, brother, Farris Huff and sister in-law Lottie Paschall. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters; Hazel Clayton, Irene Gregory and Ester Lunsford, brothers; Eldridge, Clyde and Roy Huff. The family will receive friends on Tuesday October 31, 2017 at McClure Funeral and Cremation Service in Graham from 5-7 and at other times they will be at Carolyn’s house. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 1, 2017 at 11:00am in the McClure Funeral Chapel in Graham with Dr. Tommy Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Haw River Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hospice and Pallaitive Care Center of Alamance-Caswell 914 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215 or the Alzheimer’s Asssociation at www.alz.org
