Sharon Mabry

October 27, 1950 — September 20, 2024

Sharon Leach Mabry, known as "Granny" or "Red" to those who knew her best, passed away on September 20, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on October 27, 1950, to the late George and Anne May Leach, Sharon's vibrant spirit and warm heart touched the lives of many throughout her years.

She was a cherished mother to her daughters, Wendy Foster and Heather Mabry (Kevin Brown). Her role as a grandmother was one she embraced with joy and pride, doting on her grandchildren, Sam, Jessi, Rian, Will Foster, and Linkoln Brown and great-granddaughter, Karsen Quiroa. Sharon's sisters, Phyllis Terrell and Georgia Rinehart, also held a special place in her heart, as did her many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her  husband, Dennis Mabry, and her sister Cindy Leach. She was a dedicated employee at Labcorp, where she retired after many years of service. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident to all who worked alongside her. Following her retirement, Sharon continued to apply her talents and skills at The Drapery Boutique in Haw River. Sharon's interests and hobbies were a reflection of her zest for life and her love for simple pleasures. She found joy in playing scratch-off tickets and "The One Arm Bandits," always with a hopeful heart and a smile on her face.  She could often be found with a book in hand, lost in the pages of a good story. However, her greatest delight was watching her grandchildren play sports, cheering them on from the stands and celebrating their achievements with pride. Sharon's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring bonds of family. Her radiant smile and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. A visitation will be held on Tuesday September 24, 2024 from 5pm-7pm at McClure Funeral Service in Graham.
