BURLINGTON - Shirley Mae Briggs Hunnicutt-Harper, 72, of 3318 Belmont-Mt. Hermon Road, Lot 25, died Friday, June 28, 2013, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. She was a native of Person County, retired as a nurse with Kernodle Clinic and a member of Trinity Worship Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Floyd Briggs and Esther Richardson Briggs Workman; first husband, Samuel Ray Hunnicutt; and a sister, Betty Briggs Smith. She is survived by her husband, George Robert Harper of the home; daughters, Debra Rucker of Snow Camp and Faith Judd of Pleasant Garden; son, Timothy Hunnicutt of Jamestown; stepson, Jeffrey Scott Harper of Asheboro; and stepdaughter, Robin Singletary of Southport; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, James Linwood Briggs and Archie Briggs, both of Mebane. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 2, at Trinity Worship Center conducted by the Rev. Darrell Cox and the Rev. Tommy Fuquay. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM, other times at the residence.
