Shirley (Andrews) Marlow

Ms. Shirley Andrews Marlow, 88, of Mebane, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Born on January 16, 1937, in Chatham County, NC, Shirley was the daughter of the late Stedman and Mary Andrews. She was a proud graduate of Mebane High School and a member of Mebane Presbyterian Church. Shirley had a deep love for children and loved working at Hawfields Childcare with the babies. She was married to the love of her life, Dickson Marlow, for 57 wonderful years.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Dickson Marlow; her sisters, Margaret Duckett and Peggy Bradshaw; and her brothers, C.T. Andrews and Jerry Andrews.

She is survived by her daughter, Tempra Bellamy (Richard); her granddaughters, Allison Bellamy and Isley Wright (Andrew); her great grandchildren, Peyton Wright, Taylor Wright, Jordan Wright, and Mason Wright; and her beloved companion, her cat, Sophie “ain’t that right?”

A graveside service will be held to honor her life on Saturday, August 9, 2025, beginning at 2:00pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00pm at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ms. Shirley’s name to ASPCA or your local animal shelter.
