Stephen “Steve” Bryan Kueider, 65, of Haw River passed away February 27, 2022 at Duke Medical Center, Durham. He was the son of Walter George and Margaret Carolyn Bryan Kueider of Mebane, both deceased.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Shelby Bowman Kueider of the home; one sister, Peggy Kueider McCoy (Bryan) of Supply; and three brothers, Mike Kueider (Barbara) of Mebane, Scott Kueider (Sandra) of Oak Ridge and Jim Kueider (companion Donna) of Mebane. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces & nephews, and great-nieces & nephews.
Steve was a commercial electrician, owned a lawncare business and performed odd jobs within the funeral industry. He was a long-time member of Mebane United Methodist Church. As a teen there he was active in UMYF and as an adult was dedicated to being one of the top brunswick stew ticket salespersons as a member of the United Methodist Men.
Steve lived on his own terms, surviving many scrapes and health challenges. He loved his Lord Jesus, but lived this love by being a friend to others in his community more so than within the confines of a church building. He loved fishing anywhere from the neighborhood pond to the Gulf of Mexico. He was a hardcore fan of the Duke Blue Devils basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball teams.
Visitation will be held from 1 pm to 2 pm on Monday, March 7 at McClure Funeral Service, 1030 South Main Street, Graham. Please feel free to wear your favorite ACC Team shirt, even if it is a Tarheel one, to honor his memory.
A graveside service will be held at Linwood Cemetery, East Pine Street, Graham at 2:30 p.m.
Memorials can be made to Mebane United Methodist Church Methodist Men, 200 South Fourth Street, Mebane, NC 27302 or the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
