Steven Craig Boone

Steven “Hopper” Craig Boone, 71, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at his home. Steven was born in Alamance County on June 12, 1951 to the late Allen Boyd Boone and Earline McAllister Boone. Steven will be remembered as a very active man, always finding something to piddle with and finding any reason to be outdoors. Steven enjoyed many things in life, including car shows, NASCAR, expressing his love for music playing the drums and tambourine, his dune buggy, and spending time with his friends. Steven had a place in his heart for all of these things but none surpassed the love he had for his family, always taking the time to enjoy his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Boone was preceded in death by a son, Craig Boone, and three brothers, Allen Boone, Pete Boone, and Bobby Boone.

Steven is survived by his wife, Sylvia Boone, his stepdaughter, Melody Massey, his stepson, Danny Foster, four grandchildren, Chris Lynn, Kameron Foster, Hayden Foster, and Sophia Foster, and 3 great-grandchildren, Olivia Lynn, Avery Lynn, and Mackenzie Lynn, and his sister, Glenda White.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Steven Boone will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 12:00PM at Oakwood cemetery. The family will receive friends at the McClure Funeral Home in Mebane prior to the service from 10:30AM-11:30AM.
