Steven Charles Harrison

Steven Charles Harrison, Sr., 63, of Gibsonville, NC, died on October 3, 2023, after a brief illness at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro. Steve was born in Brevard County, FL on July 1, 1960 to the late John Edward Harrison and the late Nina Ruth Gattis Harrison.

Steve was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle.  He is survived by his children Steven Charles Harrison, Jr., Joshua Ryan Harrison, and Holli Lauren Harrison Gartsu (Mike), and their sons John Harrison Gartsu and Beau Rogers Gartsu. He is also survived by sisters Patricia Harrison, Brenda Harrison Lowe (Donnie), Donna Harrison Burch, niece Erin Crissman and nephew Darrel Zeh.

Steve graduated from Western Alamance High School, and attended Alamance Community College and Campbell College.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1982-1988. He continued public service through his commitment to democracy, fairness, and his love of the planet. Steve served on the Gibsonville Planning Board and was chosen by his peers to chair the committee. For many years he was a front page writer for BlueNC.com.  He had an insatiable love of writing, and authored a novel, "Undeserved Trust".

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 25th, 2023, at the Gibsonville Community Center at 6:30 p.m.
