Sylvia Kay Manuel

Miss. Sylvia Kay Manuel 69, of Graham, NC, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 5, 2023, at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington. A native of Alamance Co. NC, she was the daughter of her late father, James Manuel and her late mother and stepfather, Barbara Davis Sternberg, and Thomas Sternberg. Sylvia was a 40-year resident at the McPherson Home in Mebane with the Ralph Scott Homes and attended Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church with her mother in her younger years. She was a proud past member of the Celebration Singers and will forever be remembered for her contagious smile and the joy and laughter she always brought to any room she entered. She had a light about her that always lifted anyone’s spirit that she came in contact with. Survivors include her aunt and uncle, Charlotte and Ron Farrow; aunts, Margaret Jones and Geraldine Garrett; step brother, Michael Sternberg, and many other loving cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her uncles, Donald Davis, Willis Jones and Willard Garrett; and her grandparents, Raymond and Mandy Davis. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday August 12, 2023, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastor Kevin Barbour officiating. Burial will follow alongside her mother in Moore’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church at 109 Webster Rd. Graham, NC 27253.
