Terry Millard Dixon

June 17, 1954 — April 22, 2026

Terry Millard Dixon, 71, of Graham, North Carolina, passed away on April 22, 2026.

Terry was born and raised in Saxapahaw, North Carolina. He lived a full life and walked to the beat of his own drum. If you met Terry once, you never forgot him. In his early years, he worked in the food industry and quickly learned from several top chefs the culinary skills that allowed him to practice his trade in many fine restaurants in the piedmont area and later on in San Francisco, where he resided for ten years. After returning home, he became a licensed plumber and dedicated 16 years of service to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before retiring.

Terry had a deep love for restoring Volkswagen vehicles. He was also a true lover of all animals, especially the many cats he owned throughout his life. He loved watching shows about history, traveling, and food. Known for his easygoing nature, Terry never met a stranger and was always ready with a joke or a funny story. He was a devoted family man and proudly held the title of “the very best PawPaw.”

He is survived by his daughters, Haley Dixon (Jerry) and Ashley Garcia (Luis); his two granddaughters and three grandsons; his sister, Sharon Dixon Doss (Tommy); and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Anne Dixon (Steve) and Peggy Dixon (Bill).

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, William and Naomi Dixon, and his brothers, Steve Dixon and Bill Dixon.

We will remember Terry for his genuine smile, spirited laughter, and the lasting love he leaves behind with his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
