Thomas James Burnett

Mr. Thomas James Burnett, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 5th 2015, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was a member at Burnett’s Chapel Christian Church and was retired from Lucent Technology. He is survived by wife Jean Burnett of the home; daughter: Helena Burnett Rodgers and husband Michael of Burlington; sisters: Mildred Foust of Graham, Louella Fearrington of Graham, Ruth Hadley of Burlington, Frances Lackey and husband Harvey of Greensboro; brother: Arthur “Pete” Burnett and wife Debbie of Graham. He was preceded in death by parents: Zachariah and Lena Burnett; brothers: Ervin Burnett, Samuel Burnett, and Garry Burnett Sr. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Saturday August 8th at 2:00PM at Burnett’s Chapel Christian Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service, and at other times at the residence. Mr. Burnett’s body will remain at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham until taken to the church for the service. Public viewing will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 1:00pm until 6:00pm.
