Thomas Henderson Crane, 66, of Mebane, North Carolina passed away on the morning of July 1st, 2021. He was reunited with his late wife, Shelby Jean Thomasson Crane, his father, William Jennings Crane, his mother, Lorah Anne Kivett, and his sister, Barbara Anne Crane. Survived by his son, Matthew Thomas Crane, of Mebane along with his husband, Ryan of Maryland, his stepson, Robbie Hensley and his wife, Jennifer, of Burlington along with their children, Logan and Evan. Also his brother, Ben Crane and his wife Cathey, his niece Ruth Toepfer and her son, Stephen Teer and Daughter Rebecca Teer.
Thomas Crane was born on November 7 th , 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in Burlington, North Carolina and made a living for himself by becoming a carpenter and home builder, working for companies such as Palm Harbor. He went to theology school to become a minister and would go on to teach fellowship services and Sunday school at Central Baptist Church in Mebane. On January 10 th , 1986, he married Shelby Jean Thomasson, of Mebane. On that same day, two years later, Thomas's son Matthew Crane was born.
Thomas was a devoted husband and father and played the paternal role to many people in and outside his family. Always willing to go the extra mile to help anybody in need, Thomas contributed to many people’s lives, no matter who it was. He was also a very spiritual and religious person. Some of his hobbies included being an avid fisherman, bowling, working on cars, and getting out on the water every chance he could. He will be deeply missed by all his friends, family, and all who knew him. The family will receive friends from 5-7 on Thursday July 8, 2021 at Central Baptist Church in Mebane.
