Mr. Thomas Irving (Jake) Teague Sr. 93, of Snow Camp, passed away Thursday, August 25. Jake was born March 31, 1923, in Chatham County, NC, to the late Roma and Everett Teague. He married the late Dorothy (Dot) Teague in Graham on October 9, 1946. At the time of her death they had been married 66 years. In addition to his wife and parents, Jake is preceded in death by one sister, Jean Thomas. Jake was a decorated captain in the United States Army serving in both World War II and Korea. His many honors included two Bronze Stars and a Battlefield Commission. Jake was a proud member of the US Army, 75th Division “Bulge Busters”. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Jake worked as a cattleman in Chatham County. Surviving to celebrate Jake’s life are his three sons; Thomas Irving Teague Jr. and wife, Mary, of Hendersonville, N.C.; Everett Glen Teague and wife, Mary, of Lexington, N.C. and Robert (Bob) Dwayne Teague and wife, Maria, of Snow Camp, N.C.; seven grandchildren; Tommy, Amanda, Terra, Jacob, Conner, Blayne, Jennifer and Andrew; and two great-granddaughters, Katie and Shasha. The funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, August 28 at 3:00 p.m. at South Fork Friends Meeting in Snow Camp with the pastors Andrew Needham and Richard Silver officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. at the church.
