Thomas Lee Lloyd Sr.

In the early morning of July 12th 2025 Thomas Lee Lloyd passed away peacefully after a long battle of declining health. Born on November 5th 1942 in Pontiac Michigan, Tom and his brother Jim both found their path in life by enlisting together in the U.S. Marine Corps. Once honorably discharged Tom found his career working with at risk children as the Programs Superintendent at the Oakland County Children's Village. After retirement Tom moved to North Carolina to be near his children and grand children. Tom was known for his boundless passion for his family, history, literature, knowledge, trivia, love of playing basketball, muscle cars and the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed music, spent countless hours reading, learning, thinking and philosiphing. He enjoyed the pursuit of finding, buying and selling muscle cars, having owned too many to count. He loved playing basketball especially with his children and grandchildren as well as watching them play and coach. Tom was well known for saying "You don't quit playing basketball because you get old, you get old because you quit playing basketball". His legacy lives on in the memories of his children, grand children and anyone who knew him, passing on his love of basketball to his son's and grand sons reminding us to play with passion and embrace every moment. He will be dearly missed but forever celebrated as a true champion both on and off the court and will be forever known as an original hard ass. Tom is survived by his Son Thomas Lee Lloyd Jr., wife Lisa and their children Cora and Tommy. Daughter Tracy Tiffany, husband Julian and their children Sam, wife Christina and Will, wife Alissa and their daughter June. His Son James Lloyd, wife Carrie and their children Sara, Lauren and Brayden. His daughter Jennifer Hargrave, husband Joe and their children Brady and Ava. Son Ryan Brown, wife Hannah. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday July 19th at the home of his son Jim located at 2713 Delaney Dr. Burlington, NC, from 1-5 PM for those wishing to celebrate and share memories of a life well lived
