Thomas Junior Richards

On June 4, 2023, Thomas Junior Richards went home to be with our Lord.  Thomas was born to John Thomas Richards and Annie Belle Richards of Mebane, NC.  He was the middle of three children born of their union. Thomas was born on December 12, 1954, in Alamance County. He attended Orange County Elementary and High Schools. He furthered his education by attending the NC Truck Driving School in Smithfield, NC, after which he was a truck driver on the road and local for more than thirty years until his retirement.  He could not stop working, so he worked for Alamance Regional Medical Center at the Village at Brookwood Community for approximately eight years and then truly retired.  Thomas was united in holy matrimony to Marilyn Brooks for forty-three plus years. Their marriage was an example of a long lasting and healthy love.  He was a born again Christian and a faithful member of The Lambs Chapel in Burlington for approximately six years until his health would not allow him for safety reasons.  He loved doing yard work and going to the gym for a hardcore and strenuous workout.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, John and Annie Richards.

Thomas is survived by his wife Marilyn Richards; his sister, Pat Enoch Parker (Freddie) of Haw River; his brother, Anthony Richards of Hillsborough; his nephews, Michael Corey Enoch and Michael Anthony Richards of Mebane; his sister-in-laws, Helen Jean English (David) of Efland and Brenda Scurlock of Durham; his brother-in-laws, Leo Brooks (Pauline) of Hillsborough and Bobby Brooks (Janet) of Mebane; and many nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends. He is also survived by a very special love, his pet dog, Lexie.

A funeral service for Thomas will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 1pm at McClure Funeral Service in Graham.  Burial will follow at Graham Memorial Park.
