Thomas Wood

Allen Wood, 84, passed away on March 11, 2017 at his residence. He was the son of the late Curtis and Ruth Wood. He was a member of Haw River United Methodist Church. He was an avid Duke and Atlanta Braves fan, he liked to bowl and play golf and he loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Opal Lamb Wood, son; Curt Wood of Haw River, daughters; Debbie Cathey (Tommy) of Graham, Kay Rutherford (Mike) of Madison, grandchildren; Tammi Deal (Brad), Paige Payne (Jerry), Ashley Cathey (Daniel). Marki Allison (Steve), Jami Covington (Adam), Ami Bullins (D.W.) Kayli Bowman (Brandon), Josh Rutherford (Terri), Nate Rutherford, great grandchildren; Zack, Keaton, Brantley, Anderson, Maddox, Brinley, Easton, Audynn, Caedon, Chandler, Stevi, Trafton, Braxton and Charleigh, sisters in-law; Jewel Ray and Pearl Smith. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday March 15, 2017 at McClure Funeral and Cremation Service in Graham. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and at other times at the home. The family would like to thank Mitzi, Sandy, Rosa, Holly and the rest of the staff at Hospice for their care of Allen.
