Thurman Edwards

Thurman Lee Edwards, 84, of Statesville, NC passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Thurman was born in Durham County. He was a retired Meat Merchandiser and a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. He also proudly served his country in the US Army. Thurman is survived by his sons, Myron Lee Edwards of Statesville and Trent Edwards (Dee Pelliccio) of Boone. Granddaughters, Xeminia Yvette Edwards, Caroline Grace Edwards. Great Grandson, Archer Nash Edwards. Special friend, Mildred Teer of Chapel Hill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda LaVern Gooch Edwards; Granddaughter, Kerstin Edwards. Parents, Cante Arthur Edwards, Sr. and Sadie Louisiana Ellington Edwards. He was also preceded in death by two brothers. A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham. Officiating will be Pastor Scott Lawson. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Durham. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 Sunday prior to the service.
