Thurman "Bob" Snyder

MEBANE - Thurman "Bob" Snyder, 78, of Mebane, passed away at the Alamance-Caswell Hospice House in Burlington, NC, on January 18, 2014 after a brief battle with advanced lung cancer. Bob was born on September 2, 1935 in Randolph County, AL to his parents William G. Snyder and Tiny Mae Parmer Snyder (both deceased). Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.Bob is survived by his wife Ruby Lilley Snyder of 56 years; son, Kenny Snyder (Rhonda); 3 daughters, Karen Snyder Bailey (David) of Durham; Donna Snyder Lloyd of Mebane; Stephanie Snyder O'Rourke (Tim) of Hillsborough; 7 grandchildren: Jennifer, Alex and Kyle Lloyd, Andrew and Jordan Snyder, Dustin Bailey, and Jeff Compton; one brother Lawrence Snyder (Charlotte) of Georgia, 2 sisters: Elizabeth Snyder O'Neill of Texas, and Jan Hagerty (Roy) of Durham; sister-in-law, Maverine Snyder, of Florida.He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Ernest and Elmer and 1 sister, Ruth.Visitation will be on Tuesday Jan. 21st from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McClure Funeral Service in Mebane.
