Graham

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Timothy Neal Murphy, “Tim” on April 26, 2026 suddenly at his home at the age of 67. Tim was born on August 17, 1958 in Burlington, NC. Tim grew up in Alamance County and graduated from Eastern Alamance High School in 1976. Prior to graduating he wed the love of his life, Robin Garner Murphy on March 28, 1976 in Burlington, NC. Tim built his forever home with his wife, Robin in Graham, NC where they raised three wonderful children. He was a devoted owner and operator at Garner Murphy Construction for over 45 years, where he was a very talented heavy equipment operator and beloved boss man. Tim was known for his love of hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his ten grandchildren. He also spent many years on a ball field as a player, coach and parent where he made many life long friends. Tim had a “one of kind” sense of humor; his friends and family can recount many of his playful, mischievous acts. Tim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Robin Garner Murphy, children, Christy Lutterloh (Clay), Alan Murphy (Kristy), and Matthew Murphy(Ashley). Brother, Benny “Snook” Murphy, sister, Pam Foster (Doug). Grandchildren, Carson Lutterloh, Payton Lutterloh, Oaklyn Lutterloh, Weston Murphy, Tatum Murphy, Gunner Murphy, Tucker Murphy, Austin Reed Murphy, Tripp Murphy and Ty Murphy. He was excitedly awaiting the arrival of his first great grandchild, Trace Scherer.

He is preceded in death by his father, Benny Murphy, mother, Imogene Hill Murphy and grandparents Frank and Annie Murphy, Wilbur & Mayzell Hill, and a very special aunt, Maydell Murphy.

Tim will be missed dearly by family, friends, and all of those he encountered along the way.

The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at McClure Funeral Service in Graham. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, April 30, 2026 in the McClure Funeral Chapel in Graham officiated by Pastor Brian Dehart. At other times the family will be at the residence.
