Tina Sedberry Carlton

We are saddened to share that the life of Tina Sedberry Carlton was taken on October 1st, 2022 in Oak Island, NC. The family is both devastated and shocked by her death. Tina was a light and brought joy to everyone she ever met. She was a wonderful mother who selflessly put her three daughters before anything else. Tina was beautiful and such a strong woman who loved Jesus with everything she had in her. She made sure to help others feel the happiness she had to share. Her fiery red hair, bright smile and warm personality made everyone feel loved and will never be forgotten. Tina was born August 25th, 1972 in Troy, North Carolina, to Brenda Frutchey Jackson and the late John Carson Sedberry. Tina is survived by her three daughters: Kirsten Carlton, Karis Carlton, and Kaylan “Boo” Newsome, and son in law Jadon Newsome, granddaughter Woodlyn Newsome, mother Brenda Jackson, sister Sherry Ross, brother in law Dennis Ross, and nephew Carson Ross, and many other family members from the Sedberry and Frutchey families. Tina also loved her two furbabies, Jaycee and Bear who will remain an important part of our family. Tina has now joined her daughter’s father, and true love, Darcy Carlton, and is happier than ever with Jesus by her side. Tina was a proud nurse of 28 years and in May 2022, she continued her education and successfully obtained an advanced degree from UNCW. She was a hard worker and made it her life’s purpose to help as many people as she could. The funeral for Tina Carlton will be held Sunday, October 9th, Visitation will be from 2:00pm - 3:00pm at The Lamb’s Chapel Airport Campus 3539 Alamance Road, Burlington, NC 27215. Funeral services will follow immediately afterwards. Friends and family are welcome at the graveside service which will be held at the Sedberry Cemetery located 1:45 hours away from Burlington at 261 Hallyburton Road, Mt. Gilead, NC 27306.
