Tommy Evans

MEBANE - Rev. Tommy Evans, 62, passed away on Friday March 27, 2015 at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell. He was a Methodist minister for 26 years serving the Burlington, Raleigh, Durham, Sanford and Wilmington Districts during that time. He was an avid Duke fan, a loving father and enjoyed reading. Survivors include his daughter; Leslie Evans of Mebane, son; Kyle Evans of Mebane, brother; David Evans of New Bern, his former wife Mary Beth Evans and a granddaughter Madison Evans who was his pride and joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Bessie Banks Evans, a brother; Pete Evans and his sister Susan Evans. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6-8 at McClure Funeral and Cremation Service in Mebane and at other times at the home, 519 N. Carr St. Mebane, NC. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 2:00pm in the McClure Funeral Chapel in Mebane. Interment will follow in Lebanon Church Cemetery.
