Verna Lea Teer

Mrs. Verna Lea George Teer, age 70, passed peacefully Friday December 19, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She is a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, a proud Texan by birth and avid Cowboys fan. She is survived by her husband Walter Raney Teer, two daughters Lea Ann McCann and husband Barry of Chapel Hill and Natalie Riggsbee and husband Chad of Durham, two sons Randy Teer of Nebraska and Nathan Teer of Chapel Hill, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, two sisters Joy Vela, Poppy Richards and husband TJ of San Antonio, Texas and a host of loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Cross Roads Baptist Church, Hillsborough, NC on Monday December 22, 2014 from 1:00pm until 2:00 pm, with the funeral service being held at 2:00pm at the church. Rev. Bruce Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in the Cane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Teer’s body will remain at the McClure Funeral and Cremation Service in Mebane until taken to the church.
