Vina Lou Slaughter Faulk

SNOW CAMP - Vina Lou Slaughter Faulk of 1433 Walnut Grove Lane, died April 19th, at her home. Vina was born October 24, 1932 to the late Johnson Slaughter and Ida Sykes Slaughter. She met her late husband Vance Dewey Faulk at 16 and they were married for 63 years until his death in 2012. Vina was a sweet woman with a wicked sense of humor and a great love for her family. Daddy Vance Faulk never met a stranger and Moma Vina Lou never failed to feed his strangers and welcome them into her home and heart. She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Faulk Litman of Snow Camp, Susan Faulk Hamner and her husband Steve of Greensboro; daughter-in-law, Cindy Faulk Fontana; sister, Velma Slaughter Jones; grandchildren, Lisa Faulk Boulanger (Patrick), Jeffrey Todd Faulk, Joseph Faulk Ashley Sr. (Melanie), Tristan Alexander Qualls (Heather), Christopher Andrew Ashley (Paris), Matthew Paul Litman (Neomi), Brett Anderson Faulk, Crystal Hamner Cox (Michael) and Rebecca Hamner Popoli (Kevin); great-grandchildren, Vanessa Davis Lockhart, Angelica Nicole Ashley, Nicole Lynn Wolfe, Joseph "JJ" Faulk Ashley Jr., Victoria Renee Ashley, Joseph Cain Pickard, Jenna Ellen and Emily Taylor Merritt, Ashley Ann Gleason, Elena Jayne and Andrew Hamner Popoli and Vance Hunter Ashley. She is also survived by her life-long dearest friend and confidant Hazel Ray as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Faulk; and three infants, James Kenneth, Roger Dale and David Vance Faulk; a beloved sister Virginia Slaughter Frazier and three infant great-grandsons, Brian and Brandon Boulanger and Paul Edward Litman. Visitation will be held Thursday April 21st at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Friday April 22nd McClure Funeral Home Chapel. Her nephew David Bruce Willetts will conduct the service. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Mebane. Condolences can be made online at www.mcclurefuneralservice.net
