Viola Burlinda "Linda" Killian

Viola Burlinda "Linda" Broom Killian was born on January 25, 1955. She went to be withthe Lord after a lengthy illness on December 31, 2023. She was born in Winnsboro, SC tothe late John Henry and Daisy (Gaither) Broom. She joins her parents and two brothers, John Broom Jr. and Larry Jerome Broom in eternal celebration.Linda moved to Hickory, NC in 1972, where she met her loving and caring husband, William"June Bug" Killian Jr. They wed on May 26, 1973 and soon welcomed theiir son William "LilBit" Killian III. In 1978 the family grew as they welcomed their daughter Crystal Killian. Linda entered the workforce in 1978 after 5 years as a stay at home wife and mother. She worked atHickory Manufacturing for 30 years as an upholsterer until her illness in 2008 when she resumed the role of stay at home wife. As her illness progressed, her husband became her caretaker. On August 15, 2013 he told his employer "I am retiring to take care of my wife,effective today," as he did in the past 10 of their 50 years of marriage.Linda is survived by her faithful, caring, and loving husband, William D Killian Jr., children, WIlliam D Killian III and wife Traci Killian of Claremont, NC, and Crystal Killian of Hickory, NC. Grandchildren: William Hayes of Charlotte, NC, Joshua (Deja) Killian of Raleigh, NC, and Ashton Killian of Hickory, NC. Surviving aunts Nancy Green and Jimmie Boyd of Winnsboro,SC and Uncle Paul Gaither of Alexandria, VA. Linda was a loving sister to Willie “Butch” Broom of Winnsboro, SC, Edna C. (Bruce) Holmes of Winnsboro, SC, Clinton “Puncho” (Teshawnda) Broom of Winnsboro, SC, Nancy “Tootsy” (Bill) Boulware of Carlisle, SC, Samuel (Sara) Broom of Rock Hill, SC, and Daniel (Keonda) Broom of Blythewood, SC. She had many family and friends with memories to be cherished including her mother-in-law and partner in crime,Odessa C. Hall of Hickory, NC. Linda also leaves a host of in-laws, relatives, and dear friends to mourn the love shared between them.  A Celebration of Linda's life will be held at 12pm Saturday January 6, 2024 at Clinton Tabernacle AME Zion Church, 485 Catawba Valley Blvd SE #465, Hickory, NC 28602.  The family will receive friends from 11am-12pm on Saturday at the church prior to the service.
