Virginia "Tom" Allen Lemons

Mrs. Virginia Dare “Tom” Allen Lemons, 89, of Haw River, NC, passed away on Saturday August 13, 2016 at her Residence. Born in Alamance County on June 29, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Dennis Arlington “D.A.” and Roxie Phillips Allen and wife of 50 years to the late James Franklin Lemons. She was a lifelong resident of Haw River. She and her Husband Jim owned and operated J.F. lemons Grocery Store in Haw River. She attended the First Baptist Church of Haw River and was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. Survivors include her daughter, Jo Ann Lineberry and husband Steve, of Haw River and son James Allen “Jimmy” Lemons, of the home; sister in law, Nancy Allen, of Graham and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Simon Cicero Allen, William Paul Allen, Earnest James Allen, Finley George “Chunk” Allen and Arlie Junior “Crip” Allen; sisters, Violet Allen Neese and Betty Allen Jones. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday August 17, 2016 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastor Walter Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Tuesday August 16, 2016 at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham and other times at the residence of the family on Circle Drive, Haw River, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative care Center of Alamance Caswell at 918 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215 or to the First Baptist Church of Haw River at 508 East Main Street, Haw River, NC 27258.
