Virginia Wilson Edwards

Virginia Edwards, 93, passed away on September 4, 2016 at Springwood Assisted Living in Burlington. She was the daughter of the late Swannie Wood and William “Whitt” Wilson. She was also a founding member of Pilgrim Holiness Church. Survivors include sons; Cecil Edwards (Irene) of Gibsonville, Clarence Edwards (Maxine) of Hillsborough, daughters; Linda Ford (Rick) of Mebane, Ruth Blalock (James) of Mebane and Rachel Castle (Russell) of Hillsborough, brother in-law, Harvey Edwards, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George Edwards, son; G.W. Edwards, great grandson Jesse Blalock, three brothers and one sister. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday September 9, 2016 in the chapel of McClure Funeral and Cremation Service in Mebane. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1-2 prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell 914 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215 or any charity of your choice.
