MEBANE - Mr. Wade Douglas Satterfield, 67, of 2736 Bason Road, died at 6:33 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at his home after a sudden illness. He was born in Alamance County, NC, attended Southern Alamance High School, was a veteran of the U.S. Army, retired from AT&T as a lineman, a member of the American Legion Post of Mebane, the Haw River Christian Church, the Gold Wing Riders Association, Chapter N, of Burlington, NC. Surviving family members are his wife, Brenda Gail Kimrey Satterfield, of the home; daughters, Glenda Marie Satterfield of the home, Melanie Dawn Satterfield Moody and husband Wayne of Mebane; his greatest joy, pride and loving buddy, grandson Luke Douglas Moody; sister, Virginia Carol Satterfield of Mebane; brother, Shelton Miles Satterfield and wife Debbie of Lillington, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Brutcher Satterfield and Virginia Lois Trollinger Satterfield and brother, Boyd Satterfield. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at the McClure Funeral and Cremation Service, 1030 South Main Street, Graham, NC, and at other times at the residence. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at The Lamb's Chapel, Haw River, NC, with the Rev. James L. Rosser and the Rev. Ervin Kimrey Jr. officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
