Wade "Randy" Tate, known as Randy to his friends and family, passed away on March 4, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on March 19, 1959, in Alamance County, Randy was a man whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Alton Wade and Thelma Carswell Tate. He is survived by his cherished "Lady Friend," Lisa Maynard, who brought joy and companionship to his later years. Randy's legacy continues through his son, Chris Tate and his girlfriend Andrea Matthews, and his daughter, Melissa Linville and her husband Chris. His life was further enriched by the laughter and love of his grandchildren, Dylan Tate, Hayden Parker, Cailyn Linville, Addi Hobgood and Kennedy Henderson.
Randy's brother, Craig Tate and sister, Rhonda Tate, will remember him as a beacon of strength and kindness within the family. His two nieces and a host of loving friends will also hold dear the memory of his jovial spirit and unwavering support.
Throughout his life, Randy was known for his easy smile and his ability to make those around him feel valued and heard. His presence was a source of comfort and his sense of humor a wellspring of joy. Randy's impact on his community was profound, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him. The family will receive friends on Friday March 7, 2025 from 5pm-7pm at McClure Funeral Service in Mebane. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday March 8, 2025 at Mt. Zion Christian Church Cemetery in Mebane.
