Wayne Anthony Greeson

Wayne Anthony Greeson of Jamestown, NC passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at the Shannon Gray Rehabilitation & Recovery Center. Wayne was born Dec 23, 1937, in Alamance County to Charlie and Elizabeth Anthony Greeson both deceased. Wayne moved to Jamestown in 1970 where he raised his family with Annie Roach Greeson and was employed by Oakdale Cotton Mills, where he loved and was well loved by his employees and co-workers. He also worked with Sunland Fire Protection until he retired. He moved back to Alamance County to Graham with wife Elaine Neal Greeson. They were active members of Northside Baptist Church in Burlington.

Wayne was a loving Christian, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a great friend to all who were blessed to know him. He loved bluegrass music and continued to love singing old hymns that he learned as a child until just the hour before his death. The family would like to thank Shannon Gray for the wonderful care over his last years.

He is survived by his sons Russell Greeson (Elizabeth) Jeff Greeson and daughter Christy Martin (Scott). Grandchildren, Rachel Carter (Ben). Scott Greeson (Victoria) and Daniel Greeson (Hannah). He was so very proud to be called GREAT grandfather to Eloise, Lucy and Ruth Ann. Siblings Virginia Poe, Scott Greeson (Nina) and Jerry Greeson and many Loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Wayne was also preceded in death by mother of his children Annie Roach Greeson and wife later in life Elaine Neal Greeson, Sisters Dorothy Boggs, Sarah Newland and Brothers Charlie Shot Greeson, Gayle Greeson, Pete Greeson and Ed Greeson. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday October 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham. Officiating will be John Michael Greeson. Burial will follow in the Guilford Memorial Park in Jamestown, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral from 10-11AM at McClure Funeral Home in Graham.
