Mr. Willard Ausben Hill, age 76, of 438 Cedar Lane, Mebane, NC, died at his home 12:22 am Saturday March 14, 2015. Willard was born in Alamance County, NC, served in the U.S. Navy, a member of the Glen Hope Baptist Church, retired from IBM as an Engineer and retired from the City of Burlington. Willard enjoyed playing with his children and grandchildren, playing golf, reading, watching Jeopardy, fishing, spending time at the beach, avid NASCAR fan, making people feel happy especially the Queen of his castle, his wife Sue, of 56 years and had a special place in his heart for his dog JJ, lovingly named after JJ Reddick. Surviving him is his wife Sue Baker Hill of the home, daughters Trudy H. Coleman and husband Tony of Mebane, Wendy Sheppard and husband Len of Wilmington Mass., Cindy Felts of Mebane, son W. Duane Hill of Mebane, grandchildren Whitney C. Nelson and husband Sean, Hillary Coleman, Laura Felts, Greyson Felts, Will Felts Sydney Hill, Phillip Sheppard, great grandchildren Audrey Felts, Ayden Felts, Cameron Nelson and soon to come Baby Nelson, brother Leonard Anderson of Georgia and several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death his parents Riley Talmadge Hill and Ollie Beatrice Hill, twin daughters Shelley and Sherry Hill, brothers Eugene Hill and Ronald Hill, sister Bethel Wall. The family will receive friends at the McClure Funeral and Cremation Service in Mebane on Monday, March 16, 2015 from 12 noon until 1:30pm with a funeral service to be held at 2:00pm in the McClure Chapel officiated by Pastor David Jackson, burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Burlington, NC. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance Caswell 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
