Mebane William Virgil “Bill” Thomas, 66, of Mebane died Thursday, March 3 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro. He was a native of Peoria, IL, Retired from Technical Precision Plastics in Mebane, member of Central Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil C. & Pearl Denton Thomas; sister, Ann Blankenship and brother, Jerry Lee Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Judy Payne Thomas of the home; daughters, Angela Thomas Shernock and husband Shane of Burlington, Caroline Thomas Willets and husband David of Mebane and Julie Dunnigan Felmet and husband David of Mebane; sisters, Virgie Johnson and Grace Jeffries both of Illinois; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A service to celebrate his life will be 3:00 PM Saturday at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane by Rev. Mike Faust. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 – 3:00 before the service and other times at the residence.
