William Paul Bumgarner

Mebane W. Paul Bumgarner, 90, of Mebane died Sunday, June 21st at the Hospice Home in Burlington. He was a native of Wilkes County, retired from White Furniture Company, a member of Mebane Wesleyan Church and Zion Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wilkesboro and a US Army Veteran of WW II serving in the European Theatre. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Church Bumgarner; parents, John Allen and Bertie Wyatt Bumgarner; siblings, Glenn Bumgarner, Ray Bumgarner, Abby Bumgarner, Mae Paris, Ila Blackburn and Pansey Mitchell. He is survived by his children, Darlene Waddell of Miller’s Creek, Kenneth P. Bumgarner of the home, Gary W. Bumgarner and wife Donna of Mebane; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sister, Emma Lou Hayes of San Francisco, CA Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Zion Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. James Tallent, Bill Cardwell and Donna Bumgarner. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane 6:00 – 8:00 Tuesday evening.
